For this final assessment I will be a bit humorous because I’m
not begging for a grade to pass the class. With that being said the assignment
is to grade how you think you did in the class. I would give myself an A -,
this is because I participate well in class and I do good work, considering
that I take 15 hours of classes that in reality make up to be 17 hours. While I
have assignments done and turned in on time.
First is the reason for the A- is because I don’t believe I deserve
an A+ for I could have done a bit better. Reasons being that my time could have
been managed better throughout this year, allowing for better work to be done. I
could have not been picking my nose in that one class and flicking them on
students, while I should have been taking notes on class discussions. In
reality my time wasn’t managed well for it was my first year to take day
classes and I got used to working a full time job and going to school at night
for 9 hours out of the week.
Second is the class participation. I would say I rocked
that! My comments were not always relevant and I couldn't hold my tongue.
Besides that I do believe I helped play the devil’s advocate and allow other
student to do critical thinking in the class. Also I think that by doing this
it allowed the students to have to pay more attention to what is being
discussed than to be on their phones in the corner. Even with that being said I
kept conversations light for I didn't have issues with but one student in the
class and it allowed for more conversation outside of class.
Third is the assignments and where it gets serious. As you
are quite aware that there was a run in with a student during group work.
Making it difficult to complete one blog and a college advice paper. With that
being said I don’t want that to suede my grade for you did give the option to make
up work and re-write a paper. By not taking those handouts I gave myself the
current grade that I have. Apart from those assignments my papers were well
rounded, completed and turned in on time. My grammar has never been great, for I
haven’t had a good English teacher all the way up until senior year. I say
things that impact people in ways I don’t mean, and I have lost a lot of good
friends because of this. My papers reflect the same idea for I can’t relay
properly what I am trying to say on paper. That’s why overall I think I deserve
an A- my papers weren't thrown together, they were poorly conveyed.
In conclusion I don’t expect to see a grade change for I think
with the final being in the book I will probably make an A- anyhow. Yet it is
worth a shot just in case for sake of my grade. I loved your class and I wish
that I keep having English teachers like you. It was an amazing semester with
amazing people. Well I feel like a suck up now and I’m going to finish with
great job. I will definitely tell and refer people to your class. Also have a
great summer!
